You need to select a subdomain like `analytics`, `portal`, `reports`, `app`or `dashboards` as your subdomain for both admins and users to access the portal.

For example if you chose `app` as the subdomain and your site is `support-analytics.com`, the the url where your clients and employees could access these dashboards will be located at `app.support-analytics.com`.

### Step 1: Adding 1 CNAME Records to your DNS

Adding a subdomain will need the following 3 pieces of information.

- analytics			
- `CNAME`
- dns-cs.support-analytics.com





**EXAMPLE:** `Adding 1 CNAME record for our DNS manager GoDaddy.com`

- The `Type` input in the record will be set to `CNAME` for both. 
- The `Name` input is the the subdomain that you have decided best represents where you'd like your users to log in to. 
- The `Value`  input refers to the CNAME url that your Clearsquare representative in your kickoff call.
- You can generally ignore the `TTL` (which stands for Time To Live), because it's impact is minor, but my advice is to set it to something longer (which will mean it will take longer to be found by the Clearsquare portal, but will mean the page will load faster for users that are first navigating to your application.

`SIDE NOTE:` You can likewise choose `www` as your subdomain, but we **DO NOT** recommend this as it is very common that you will want to keep the base url for your marketing website (the site where people can learn more about your analytic services) and users will click a "login button" that will point them to their login screens.
