To set up SSO, you'll need the following information and configurations:
- Basic Metadata:
- Provide the required IdP metadata, which typically includes:
- SSO Login URL (Identity Provider’s login endpoint).
- Entity ID/Audience (the unique identifier for our platform).
- X.509 Certificate (for secure communication between systems).
- Your Custom Subdomain:
- Ensure your metadata includes your organization’s unique subdomain (e.g., analytics.company.com).
- This subdomain will serve as the entry point for all SSO-authenticated users.
Step 1: Connect Your Identity Provider
- Select your preferred SAML 2.0-compliant IdP (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace).
- Log in to your IdP dashboard and create a new SSO application for our platform.
Step 2: Configure Attributes
- Map the following attributes in your IdP:
- Email: To identify users uniquely.
- Name: For a personalized experience.
- Role or Group: For role-based access control.
- Optional: Add custom attributes for additional functionality.
Step 3: Upload Metadata
- Copy the SSO Login URL, Entity ID, and X.509 Certificate from your IdP.
- Upload this information into the SSO configuration page on our platform.
Step 4: Test and Launch
- Conduct a test login to ensure proper authentication.
- Confirm that all user roles and permissions are correctly applied.
